Ivan and Alyosha, the Seattle folk-pop band tore it up at Holy Mountain in Austin. Walking on to the Harry Nilsson’s song “Ten Little Indians” was a brave/great move. Let’s Hear It for the Dogs from The Proclaimers is very familiar, in a good way. Identical twins, Craig and Charlie’s singing style and Scottish accents makes them one of the easiest bands to identify. The album is filled with catchy pop rock songs. Standout favorites: Through Him and You Built Me up

The Grand Scheme Of Things from Beans On Toast is a great low-fi folk punk album. He points out the imperfection of the world while keeping a sense of humor and questioning his contribution. Stinging Nettles is a standout favorite but I don’t know if the song will be able to stand the test time since is so current.
