Fruit Bats, 10/22/2015, Austin Music Hall, Austin, Photos – Write-up

Fruit Bats rocked out opening for My Morning Jacket in front of a sold out crowd.  Eric Johnson’s perfectly folky vocals flowed smoothly into the large venue.  The band covered all their bases; playing songs that reminded fans how deep their catalog is.  For indie folk rock it’s hard to beat the Fruit Bats live! Now Streaming: Ivan & Alyosha – It’s All Just Pretend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5

Ivan & Alyosha’s sophomore full length album, It’s All Just Pretend is exceptional!  The album is unmistakable Ivan & Alyosha with songs that feel like sequels to their folk pop hit, “Running for Cover” but it also has tracks that toe the line of psych-rock.  Wonderful diversity in this folk-pop-psych-rock (little bit of rockabilly, too) album, well…

Now Streaming: The Proclaimers – Let’s Hear It for the Dogs ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Let’s Hear It for the Dogs from The Proclaimers is very familiar, in a good way. Identical twins, Craig and Charlie’s singing style and Scottish accents makes them one of the easiest bands to identify.  The album is filled with catchy pop rock songs. Standout favorites: Through Him and You Built Me up
